I don’t mind NSFW posts, but I really find some of the cross-blog stuff on the Jalopnik front page jarring and out of place.

Seriously, I am at work. I don’t need my boss seeing anything Pokémon related.

Oh come on, you need to relax. Maybe on a nice new chair.

AdBlock the element, my friend. My FP looks like this-
It’s strange having the giant blank space, but at least I’m not treated to the drivel that is the cross blog tab.

this is still on the first page bruh.

Haha. Wow. That's quite a headline there. Gawker media is funny. That said, part of me wants to track down that story to try and figure out what the heck is going on.

That’s gawker bruh. “You can’t post nsfw stuff any more! No more nibby’s babes! BTW read this article about a writer fuckin fat people!”
And my favorite “all street racers are ass hats, except when they’re doing cross country rallies and breaking speed limits! They’re awesome!”

Not that there’s anything wrong with that...

And now... you've brought it here...

I once wrote a paper about the cross post’s for a media and communications class. I don’t like them either

I find it annoying that apparently being attracted to fat people seems so unusual that people need to write about it. But also yeah, it's a weird front page thing when I'm just seeing if there's any news about the new Ford GT.

I tried doing this but couldn’t identify the element that causes those things to show up...

With AdBlock Plus, you just hit block element -
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Then you hover until the element you want to block is highlighted -
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Then click and refresh the page.

You are aware both that Millihelen and Oppositelock are different blogs and that NSFW rules on Oppo wouldn’t apply to that post, right?
Oh, of course you aren’t. You were blinded by the heat of your take. Carry on.

It is extremely annoying and it is a big part of why my kids don’t get to visit this site. I can’t even share the good articles with them unless I print them out.

Safari? I have Firefox on Win7, my menu doesn’t have that option. It allows you to ‘Open Blockable Items’ and it looks like this (below) - I just can’t figure out which element it is, and I did the Firefox ‘inspect element’ then searched in the AdBlock list of blockable items for all kinds of terms surrounding that section... anyway... maybe I’ll tinker another time.

I’m in Chrome. Here’s the element names, if it helps any -

Weird that it’s ok for them when they post shit like that but they (Jezebel) made Kinja change and because of them we now have the Show pending crap. Why can’t kinja hide Jezebel’s shit to the rest of us. Sort of don’t do what we do...

I avoid porn like the disease it is. I also am shocked at what I see. Sometimes if its a site I frequent I do the adblock element deal and it works a treat!

I’m starting to enjoy the x-posts more since FP became Buzzflopnik.

Neither Gawker nor any member of the Gawker network staff had any say whatsoever in the decision to remove NSFW from Oppo

Who did then out of curiosit? I don’t care if its there or no . Just curious.

The (independent and unpaid) Oppositelock mods made the decision.

I do that they’re different. How’s it a hot take? Just stating the obvious.

Thanks for the help, yeah that’s what I’ve found for the element names using Firefox’s built-in ‘Inspect Element’ - but then I can’t find those in the list from AdBlock, of Blockable Items. Meh, I can live with it.
Thanks again for the help though.
